The Chelsea record Cole Palmer smashed in the first half of 6-0 win over Everton last night

Cole Palmer has not been shy to break plenty of records in his first season as a Chelsea player.

The England international was the last permanent addition the side made last summer, however he has not taken long to clearly become the best player at the club right now.

He showed this yet again at Stamford Bridge last night as he found the net four times in their 6-0 win over Everton.

Cole Palmer the top scorer in the Premier League

His goals saw him actually establish himself as the joint top scorer in the Premier League alongside Erling Haaland, which is a serious achievement for a player in their first real campaign as a first team player playing regular football.

The England international was even having to battle his own players for goals last night, with both Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke making a case to take a second half penalty, with Palmer eventually pulling rank and finding the net.

It was the first half where he was really enjoying himself though, scoring a perfect hat-trick in entertaining fashion.

Cole Palmer scores fastest Chelsea hat-trick in Premier League

Scoring three goals in the first half an hour was actually a record for Chelsea, as reported by Squawka.

It was recorded as the fastest hat-trick scored by a Chelsea player in Premier League history, putting another accolade in the books for the 21-year-old.

It is clear he is the most important member of the Blues squad up to now, and has a massive part to play against his former side again on Saturday.

Chelsea take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final, with an opportunity arising for them to put an end to their Wembley curse.

It also could offer the best opportunity the Blues have to qualify for Europe for next season, with their league form inconsistent to say the least throughout the majority of this season.
