Tottenham have reportedly submitted £26m bid for 'extraordinary' talent compared to Luka Modric

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as Ange Postecoglou’s rebuilding job continues to take shape.

Spurs haven’t been as bad as they were last season, but there’s still a lot of work to do in wake of some heavy defeats in recent weeks.

Tottenham were early pace-setters for the Premier League title at one point, but heavy losses to the likes of Fulham and Newcastle could prove costly.

Spurs were one of the busiest Premier League clubs in both the summer window and the January market.

And it wouldn’t be surprising to see yet more big changes in the Tottenham ranks in the coming months.

One player said to be on the Spurs radar has been compared to Lilywhites cult hero Luka Modric and deemed a ‘9/10’ talent.

The player in question is Barcelona midfielder Pablo Torre, one of the most exciting prospects in La Masia at present.

According to Catalonia’s E-Noticies, Spurs have made a €30million (£26million) offer to bring the 21-year-old to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The offer apparently left Barcelona shocked as it was unexpected, but the club is said to have welcomed it.

This is because they need to make sales before any improvements on the starting XI can be made in the market this summer.

Who is Tottenham target Pablo Torre?

Torre – who is currently on loan at fellow Catalan outfit Girona – has made 25 outings in all competitions this term, including 22 in La Liga.

The reported Tottenham target’s efforts helped Girona stake an early claim for the title and has kept them in pursuit of a top-four finish.

Football Talent Scout‘s Jacek Kulig wrote an in-depth feature article about Torre in 2021, comparing him to none other than Luka Modric.

He has been deemed a ‘player with very good technical ability, mobility, 1vs1 short-dribbling skills, close ball control, and fast direction shifts in possession.’

Torre also boasts ‘extraordinary thinking when on the ball – he often chooses options which are unexpected for the opposition/very high football IQ.’

Spurs have struck gold in the up-and-coming player market in recent years, with the likes of Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr becoming stars this term.

Let’s see whether Tottenham can get a deal for Torre over the line and perhaps get themselves the new Modric.
