'He has everything': Papiss Cisse now thinks 24-year-old player looks so happy at Newcastle United

Papiss Cisse has implored Newcastle United to keep one of their top stars at St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe truly has some elite players in his Newcastle United squad, with PIF investing heavily to make the Magpies as competitive as possible on the pitch.

That investment resulted in Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League, and the foundations are set for the club to really kick on in the coming years.

Newcastle have signed some extremely talented players, whilst ensuring they are of an age where they can still kick on and develop further.

Bruno Guimaraes is now a world class player after two years on Tyneside, while Anthony Gordon has taken his game to a whole new level.

Newcastle United star is on fire right now

They are thriving in black and white, and the same goes for the man who is leading the line for Newcastle United.

Howe has got Alexander Isak up top, who is the club’s most expensive signing ever. Toon officials smashed their transfer record to sign him in 2022, with Isak arriving for £63million from Real Sociedad.

He looks cheap at the price right now, with the 24-year-old enjoying the best season of his career. The Sweden international has scored 21 goals in all competitions, and is in contention to win the Premier League Golden Boot.

Papiss Cisse sends Newcastle a clear message about Alexander Isak

Isak’s form has led to rumours of a move away, with Arsenal interested in signing the forward who has been likened to their club legend Thierry Henry.

But former Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse is desperate to see Isak remain with the Magpies, and has told the Chronicle that the club must try their best to retain his services.

“He’s a proper striker,” he said.

“He’s good with the ball and he moves very well. He can be a big striker and I hope the club try to keep him. He’s finding space in the club and on the pitch. He looks happy there.

“If a striker is doing this on the pitch and they’re scoring, this guy is happy where he is now. I would say to him to continue what you are doing. He can become a big striker because he has everything.”

Newcastle set to do what Cisse wants

Former Toon number nine Cisse wants Isak to continue his career at St James’ Park, and it looks like he will get his wish.

The Swede has stated that he wants to remain at Newcastle United, while it has been reported that the Magpies intend to shun any approaches they receive for him this summer.

On top of that, Howe intends to build his team around Isak. That is smart, as it is rare you find a player as talented as he is. Therefore, Howe must do all he can to get everything possible out of Isak, creating an environment in which he loves playing football.

Cisse believes that Isak is happy at Newcastle right now, and long may it continue.
