'I can guarantee': Mikel Arteta says one thing will definitely happen at Arsenal today after Bayern defeat

Mikel Arteta has guaranteed one thing to happen at Arsenal today following their Champions League exit on Wednesday night.

The Gunners fell to a 1-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena thanks to a well-taken Joshua Kimmich header.

Arsenal were well-beaten on the night and can have no complaints about the result following an underwhelming second-half performance.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Martinelli were caught out for the goal, with the duo receiving criticism from Thierry Henry after the game.

It was a disappointing end to Arsenal’s Champions League run, with many tipping them to beat Bayern over two legs.

Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta’s side remain firmly in the mix for the Premier League title and face a difficult trip to Wolves this weekend.

What Arteta said after Arsenal’s Champions League exit

Speaking to the media following their defeat in Munich, Arteta guaranteed his players will be fully focused on their clash against Wolves.

“Yeah, it’s there and it’s not going to go away, certainly tonight, but I can guarantee you by tomorrow we are fully focused on Wolves and everybody’s lifted,” the Arsenal boss said.

“What we still have to play is beautiful and I said before, it’s time to be next to our players and in this moment, not when you win 10 in a row and a draw, that’s easy to prize our players and to be behind them and to say really nice things. The moment is now to be next to them.”

Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures

With six games left to play, Arsenal sit just two points behind league leaders Manchester City following their defeat to Aston Villa.

It’s been a difficult few days for the Gunners but Arteta will be desperate to ensure it doesn’t define their season.

It’s no secret that Arsenal dropped off significantly towards the end of the last campaign and they will be keen to prove they can perform when it truly matters.

Things certainly won’t get easier for Arsenal from here on out, with away games at Tottenham and Manchester United to come.

Here are Arsenal’s remaining six fixtures in the Premier League.

Wolves (A) – April 20

Chelsea (H) – April 23

Tottenham (A) – April 28

Bournemouth (H) – May 4

Manchester United (A) – May 12

Everton (H) – May 19
