"Difficult": Adam Wharton says he's struggled with one thing since Oliver Glasner arrived at Palace

Since Oliver Glasner’s arrival, Adam Wharton has gone from strength to strength in the Crystal Palace midfield, but it’s not been easy.

There have been a couple of seriously impressive standout performers for Crystal Palace over the past month especially.

Oliver Glasner has been getting the best from his players despite none being his signing.

One of the best of the bunch has been the 20-year-old January £22m signing, Adam Wharton who was brilliant against both Man City and Liverpool in the past two games.

He’s made transitioning from the Championship to the Premier League look like a walk in the park, and now he’s been discussing his time under Glasner.

In doing so, he’s admitted one difficult part.

Adam Wharton admits what’s been difficult under Oliver Glasner so far

Ahead of the next Premier League challenge against West Ham this weekend, Wharton has been talking with the Evening Standard.

In this interview, he’s explained exactly what he’s been struggling with since the arrival of Glasner.

“[We’re progressing] massively”, Wharton admitted.

“It’s obviously difficult when a gaffer comes in in the middle of the season to try and implement his tactics, which are completely different from what we had with Roy Hodgson.

“It’s all a different way, so you’ve got to get used to it as quickly as you can and when the games are coming thick and fast it’s sometimes difficult.

“But we’re playing well. He’s only been in a couple of months. We’re still not there yet.”

Crystal Palace needed drastic change, this proves it has arrived

For Palace, the fact things are changing and to a drastic degree, can only be a good thing considering how terrible things had gotten earlier this season.

The fact that Wharton has indicated just how different training is, just shows the change Glasner is bringing and also just how poor it was before.

We knew the team wasn’t fit enough and since Glasner arrived that’s clearly been key.

Through improving their fitness over the past two months, Glasner has been able to be increasingly effective in applying his pressing style – something which fell flat at times during earlier games.
