While Eze was the scorer and Joachim Andersen was deservedly crowned man of the match, it was 20-year-old Adam Wharton who truly showed his worth against Liverpool away from home.

The midfielder, who was paired with the equally impressive Will Hughes, showed no sign of this being his first taste of football in the top flight after signing for Palace in January from Blackburn Rovers.

Journalist Josh Bunting was one of many to commend the youngster’s display, dubbing him as “excellent” during the fixture on social media.

The Englishman seems to have fit into Glasner’s side seamlessly, consistently showing that he has the defensive and attacking prowess capable of moulding into a top Premier League midfielder.
