20-year-old who Tottenham targeted last summer has now admitted he absolutely loves Spurs

A 20-year-old who Tottenham Hotspur tried to sign last summer has now admitted he loves the club and grew up a Spurs fan.

The summer transfer window saw a lot of change in north London with Daniel Levy allowing Harry Kane to leave the club for Bayern Munich.

But with the appointment of Ange Postecoglou came the arrival of a host of new signings which have transformed the starting XI.

Signing Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario have provided Tottenham with two impressive ootions for their long-term project.

A lot of the signings made in Postecoglou’s first transfer window have proven to be good purchases from Tottenham as they’ve provided much needed improvement.

But there was one potential target last summer who got away from the Lilywhites as he joined another Premier League side.

And he has now spoken about his love for Spurs having grown up as a Tottenham fan as a child.

Tottenham target admits he is a massive Spurs fan

Going into the summer window, there is still work to be done at Hotspur Way to make some fine adjustments to the current squad.

Spurs have been considerably better than they were last season, but they are still falling just short in the race for the top four currently.

The win against Aston Villa back in March looked to be a real statement victory but some of the results since have been seriously underwhelming.

One player who Spurs were believed to be interested in last summer was the young midfielder Alex Scott, according to Ben Jacobs.

The 20-year-old was playing for Bristol City at the time but Bournemouth were able to beat the likes of Spurs to his signature.

Scott scored at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this season and he has recently been speaking on the Away Days YouTube channel about his love for the club.

“Literally my dad. And then I fell in love with Tottenham as a kid. So yeah, they’re my club!…[The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium] was the perfect place to score my first ever goal”.

Tottenham still searching for another attacking midfielder

Although Spurs were unable to bring in the England youth player they did bring in James Maddison last summer.

And it seems they are not quite satisfied with just the England international as they are now believed to be looking atbringing in his former teammate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

It is believed he could cost around £45m this summer with the midfielder enjoying a sensational season in the Championship.

And he is a player who could provide a great alternative to Maddison as he continues to impress for the Foxes this term.

And with European football set to be on the menu for next season, Spurs need to have plenty of strength in depth.
