‘I reckon’: Journalist says he can see Tottenham releasing ‘magnificent’ player before his contract is up

It’s never nice when you have to release a player before their contract is up, but, sometimes, it’s for the best.

Arsenal are serial proprietors of this trend. In recent years the Gunners have released the likes of Willian, Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before their contracts were up, and now, it may be time for Tottenham to take a leaf out of their rivals’ books.

Indeed, Tanguy Ndombele, believe it or not, remains on Tottenham’s books, and this summer he is, once again, due to return to Spurs for pre-season.

Ndombele’s career has, with all due respect, gone down the pan, and Spurs surely will want rid this summer.

Sadly though, finding a suitor for Ndombele won’t be easy, and speaking on The View from The Lane, James Maw has made an interesting prediction about the midfielder.

Journalists predicts Tottenham will release Tanguy Ndombele

Maw spoke about Ndombele’s future and he reckons Tottenham may just have to release him.

“We’ve avoided Ndombele again, here’s how I think this will play out. I reckon they will release him on like the 28 of August, that’s what I reckon,” Maw said.

Tanguy Ndombele’s Tottenham disaster

It’s a massive shame that it has come to this.

Ndombele remains Tottenham’s club-record signing, and in terms of natural ability, he’s still one of Spurs’ better players.

However, ability can only get you so far, you need to work hard if you’re going to make it at the very top level and that’s where Ndombele lets himself down time and time again.

To say that Ndombele’s Spurs career has been a disaster would be an understatement, and while it remains to be seen what happens this summer, we wouldn’t be shocked at all if he was ultimately released by Spurs.

Where Ndombele goes from here is unclear, but, at his best, he was a ‘magnificent’ player and if he can rediscover that form, maybe, just maybe, he’d be an asset for a Premier League side.
