March athletes out in force at the London Marathon

March Athletics Club were well represented at the London Marathon.

Nine athletes took part on the streets of London, while a further three competed virtually.

The day was a huge success with multiple PBs earnt and many runners meeting their goals ahead of the race.

Dave Burgess was first across the line for the club, beating the sub-three-hour mark by roughly six minutes in a superb performance.

Toni Alcaraz led the way for the ladies finishing in an impressive 03:14:22 despite an interrupted training block due to illness. Kanina O'Neil was hot on her tail, in 03:15:38, as the March ladies both produced outstanding performances.

Adam Pugh, Ryan Jarvis and Mark Salmons all had great runs finishing under the four-hour mark.

Tricia Cole enjoyed another fine run to knock five minutes off her PB and tick off yet another major marathon.

Second-claim runners, Glenn and Daniel Watts had a brilliant run as the pair pushed each other to achieve fantastic results.

Among the virtual competitors was Tina Lambert, who secured a sub-four-hour marathon with a fine showing.

Mike Blackledge had another strong run finishing in 04:01:49.

Sonia Witham showed her grit and determination to complete yet another long-distance event.

Elsewhere, Alan Brown completed the Zig Zag Running 'The Other Run'.
