'I'm concerned': Pep Guardiola admits he's worried about facing £3m Nottingham Forest player

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted he is worried about facing one specific Nottingham Forest player.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men will be up against it on Sunday when they come up against the reigning champions at the City Ground.

Guardiola’s side are still looking to complete the league and cup double and will certainly be the favourites going into the game on Sunday.

It has been an extremely testing campaign for Forest who have seen VAR controversy and a points deduction hold them to a relegation scrap.

However, Forest have had a number of standout performers this season with Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood both impressing.

But there is seemingly another player who Guardiola will have a special plan for to keep quiet on the weekend.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday, the Spaniard waxed lyrical about one specific Forest player.

Pep Guardiola has admitted one Forest player has him concerned

Going into the game on the weekend, Forest are sitting just a single point ahead of Luton Town who occupy the final spot in the bottom three.

However, the Hatters could well have leapfrogged Forest come kick off at the City Ground as they face Wolves tomorrow.

And that will naturally put the pressure on Forest to defy the odds and get a result against one of the most dominant sides in Europe.

Nuno will be in need of some big performances from his top players and they will need to be clincial with the few opportunities they could get on the day.

But it is apparent Guardiola is fearful of one specific player who could cause his City side some harm in forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Speaking to the media from City’s training complex, the 53-year-old admitted he’s been so impressed by the Forest winger.

“Always the atmosphere is unbelievable,” he said.

“Maybe extra in a relegation battle… But what I’m concerned is Hudson-Odoi, their strikers, weapons. We’re used to these environments and we’re going to try. They’re going to use their home ground, home people…”

Even Sean Dyche had some praise to shower on Callum Hudson-Odoi

Having signed the winger for £3m, Hudson-Odoi has been able to offer a return of five goals and one assist in the Premier League this season.

Although he was not able to find the back of the net on the weekend in the defeat to Everton, he did come out of the game with the praise from the Everton boss, Sean Dyche.

“[Ashley Young] was strong, dealing with their threat of (Callum) Hudson-Odoi, who’s having a decent season, and I thought he was very strong one-on-one,” he said.

Nuno and the Forest fans will now be hoping he can carry that impressive form into the game on the weekend against City.
