'It's not true': Jamie Carragher hits back after what he's heard involving him and Nottingham Forest

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has now reacted after hearing a suggestion he and Gary Neville had been banned from the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest‘s game on Sunday against Manchester City will be broadcasted on Sky Sports in a crunch game for both sides.

However, there has been a suggestion on social media that the broadcast may be without Carragher and Neville after the pair’s recent comments on Forest.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have been at the centre of criticism within the media following the loss to Everton last weekend.

Once again, Forest found themselves on the end of some questionable refereeing decision which saw the club take action after the game.

That statement was published shortly after full-time and it took the footballing world by storm.

But having now heard of his potential ban from the City Ground, Carragher has taken to social media to clarify a few things up.

Jamie Carragher hits out after hearing report of Nottingham Forest ban

Every game will now be seen as a cup final for Forest until the end of the campaign with Luton Town potentially able to send them into the bottom three today.

The Hatters come up against an out of form Wolves and three points would lift Rob Edwards’ side out of the drop zone.

So Forest will be eyeing three points in each of their final four games, even if they are coming up against the reigning champions.

But Neville and Carragher’s comments on the club’s recent post on the Everton decisions will have annoyed many at Forest.

Neville, in particular, went strong with his criticism and demanded Mark Clattenburg stepped down from his post.

Carragher also went in on Forest and claimed the club’s suggestion the VAR had bias going into the game was ‘classless’.

However, having seen the report that he and his colleague had been banned from the City Ground for Sunday, Carragher hit back on X.

“No it’s not true. But what a bizarre reply from yourself considering your previous tweet about the two of us,” he replied to a fan.

What Chris Wood said may prove Gary Neville was right

In the wake of the game, Neville also suggested that what Forest are doing could act as a big distraction to the players in this important run in.

The players should have their whole focus on getting three points from each of their remaining games, but it is apparent they are being dragged into the VAR debacle.

Speaking ahead of the game on the weekend, this was apparent with talisman Chris Wood speaking at length about what the state of play was with the players after the Everton decisions.

“We were all angry after the game, upset and frustrated,” he says. “I think a lot of clubs have had a lot [of bad decisions] but I do think we’ve had more than our fair share this season – more than we did last season,” he said.
