Report: Club now preparing to sell £17m player after Crystal Palace show interest

One side are now searching for a replacement in the transfer market after hearing Crystal Palace want to sign their player this summer.

With a 12th consecutive season in the Premier League now mathematically confirmed, Oliver Glasner and Dougie Freedman are already making plans for the summer transfer window.

As per usual, we are looking in the Championship once again after striking gold with Ebere Eze, Michael Olise and Adam Wharton – Hull City No.23 Jaden Philogene is believed to be a target.

We are also being linked with a number of players who have previously worked under Oliver Glasner – and there has now been an interesting development regarding one Crystal Palace target of this ilk…

VfL Wolfsburg preparing to sell Maxence Lacroix

Well, the Telegraph recently claimed that Crystal Palace could bid to sign VfL Wolfsburg No.4 Maxence Lacroix this summer – and German news outlet BILD have now advanced the story.

It is said that the Bundesliga outfit are already looking for players to replace the Frenchman – and are fully prepared to sell the central defender this summer as he approaches the final 12 months of his contract.

BILD even claim that those in the boardroom at VfL Wolfsburg doubt Lacroix will be at the club next season, and have placed a €20m (£17m) price tag on his head given his contract situation.

While this is all quite positive for Crystal Palace, there is a negative.

BILD add that AC Milan and Juventus are also keen to sign Lacroix this summer along with Crystal Palace, while Everton have registered interest too.

However, the defender has worked with Glasner before – and even spoke to him after our recent win over Liverpool – so perhaps the Austrian’s influence could swing things in Crystal Palace’s favour.

Frenchman could be Marc Guehi replacement at Crystal Palace

As things stand, Marc Guehi looks quite likely to leave Selhurst Park this summer.

The Times believe the England international could depart for £55m this summer amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Furthermore, the Daily Mail add that Guehi is currently not planning to extend his contract in SE25 – which expires in June 2026 – so a sale could be made while his value remain high.

Be sure to keep an eye on both situations, as Lacroix could replace the Crystal Palace No.6 this summer.
