After head-scratching ITK disclosure, is this the real reason for West Ham 'team bonding' night out?

The West Ham United players and staff were all out on the town last night for a ‘team bonding’ session…apparently.

It has been an awful 2024 for West Ham and David Moyes so far – and the club are believed to be looking for replacements for the Scot, including the likes of Paulo Fonseca.

The Hammers have been in free fall over the past four months or so, with just three Premier League wins to our name since the turn of the year.

We now seem set to finish in mid-table, and that’s a huge blow after the season promised so much at the end of December.

Despite all the pressure on Moyes, he did seem to hint that he might be here next season last weekend, when speaking to reporters after the Liverpool game:

“Jürgen Klopp? I’ll be glad he’s gone. Too big, teeth are too bright. He’s been immense for Liverpool. He’s the daddy there & has been able to control a big football club. I’m glad to see the back of him I’ve got to say. Hurry up & get away Jurgen!”

Why would it matter to Moyes if Klopp stays or leaves if he himself won’t be here next season? Bizarre comments, they really were.

Maybe the pressure of the season has finally caught up with him, and his players as well.

And a night out on the town was apparently arranged last night to help out with squad morale so to speak…

Sean Whetstone – a reporter close to David Sullivan – took to his X account last night to share the news that the Hammers players were out in London for a ‘team bonding’ night out:

Team bonding? With three games to go this season? Seriously???

That clearly makes no sense whatsoever does it, and I strongly believe that there would have been another reason entirely for the players and staff all to be out on the town last night…

Real reason for West Ham ‘team bonding’ night out

I strongly believe that there was no ‘team bonding’ involved in the night out in London.

If the club were to lay on a night like that, they should have done it back in January or February, when it actually could have made a difference to our season.

I’m almost positive that there was another reason why that evening up town was planned last night…

Moyes will clearly be leaving at the end of this season, I think that’s fairly obvious for everyone to see now.

The Scot has done a fine job at the London Stadium on the whole, and nobody can suggest that he hasn’t taken us on to another level as a club.

However, Moyes is clearly not capable of jumping us up to the next level, and that’s why he will inevitably leave the club at the end of the season.

In my opinion, there was no West Ham ‘team bonding’ night out – it was a goodbye dinner for Moyes. I’m convinced that he’ll be gone not long after the final whistle in our clash with Manchester City on the final day of the season.
