Report: £52m Chelsea player now likely to return from injury in next game against West Ham

Reports have claimed that Chelsea may finally be about to welcome back some of their top players from recent injury.

Mauricio Pochettino has seen his options extremely limited when picking his team in recent weeks, with there being no senior outfield players on the bench last night against Tottenham.

This didn’t seem to have a negative effect on the performance though, with them coming out 2-0 victors thanks to goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson.

The lack of first team players available saw the boss throw in the likes of Cesare Casadei and Josh Acheampong off the bench, with the 17-year-old in particular showing he can have a real future here in defence.

However, according to the Evening Standard, Pochettino may well be able to welcome back one of his top stars for the next game against West Ham on Sunday.

Christopher Nkunku ready to return from injury

The report stated that Christopher Nkunku is likely to be available, with him expected to appear off the bench.

It went on to say that this was also the case for Levi Colwill, who may struggle originally to displace any of the defenders who picked up a clean sheet last night against Spurs.

The Frenchman on the other hand seems as if he should be a certainty in the squad when he returns, so then the argument comes as to who he would be replacing.

Nkunku could replace Mykhailo Mudryk

It feels unlikely at this point that either of Jackson and Noni Madueke will drop out of the side based on their form of late, and Cole Palmer remains untouchable based on his immense season so far.

This means he could well come in for Mykhailo Mudryk, who has remained very hot and cold with his minutes for the Blues in recent weeks, although has been working hard at both ends of the pitch.
