‘Very weak’: Tim Sherwood says one Tottenham player has ‘been found out’ now

Tottenham have been absolutely terrible recently.

Four consecutive league losses is Spurs’ worst run in 20 years, and it’s not hard to figure out what is going wrong at Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are being outclassed in the midfield, but the main issue as of late has been set-pieces.

Recent matches against both Arsenal and Chelsea were decided by set-plays, and it’s clear that Tottenham do have an issue in this area.

Ange Postecoglou apparently believes this to be a personnel issue rather than a tactical problem, and according to Tim Sherwood, speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, Guglielmo Vicario is one problem player, with the pundit stating that he has been found out.

Guglielmo Vicario has been found out

Sherwood spoke about the goalkeeper and his recent issues with set-pieces.

“The goalkeeper has been found out, he’s going to be a target now. He seems like he’s very weak from crosses and people are going to target that now. This is the best league in the world with all due respect, it’s not Japan, it’s not Australia,” Sherwood said.

Guglielmo Vicario needs protection

Sherwood is spot on, Vicario has been found out, and he is being targeted now.

Ben White did a job on the Italian at the north London derby as he disrupted him from corners, and that will be such a simple formula to follow unless Tottenham protect him.

Ultimately, the fault here lies with Ange Postecoglou. The Tottenham manager is in charge of setting his team up, and if he keeps allowing Vicario’s vulnerabilities to be exposed like this, he’s doing his team a massive disservice.

Vicario is a fantastic shot-stopper, and he has had some brilliant performances for Spurs this season, but, as a goalkeeper, you can’t have a weakness that is so easy to exploit.

Tottenham need to find a way to protect Vicario going forwards.
