"Everyone loves him": Eze says £37,000-a-week Crystal Palace player is so popular at Selhurst Park

On Tuesday night, it was the season awards ceremony for Crystal Palace with several talking points emerging.

This season has been phenomenal for several within the Crystal Palace squad, as Oliver Glasner sees his Eagles end the year on a high.

It is now four wins in the past five games, including wins over the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United.

Of all the games, it could be easy to argue the 4-0 thrashing of United this past Monday was the best of the bunch in which Michael Olise scored twice, while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell both got on the scoresheet.

Now Eberechi Eze has praised one of the goalscorers.

Eze admits that everyone at Crystal Palace loves Tyrick Mitchell

Speaking at the end-of-season awards ceremony, Eze discussed Mitchell and touched on the celebration of his goal against United.

After winning the goal of the season award, Eze was on stage with Joachim Andersen, with the exciting attacker discussing Mitchell, as quoted by club media.

“You can see by the celebration after he scores how much everyone loves him,” Eze explained about his left-sided teammate who earns £37,000-a-week.

As seen, the minute that Mitchell puts the ball in the net, he seems to be surrounded by his teammates instantly in celebration.

His goal was the third of the game, and it effectively ruled out any potential comeback, which likely helped with the celebrations.

How has Tyrick Mitchell been playing this season?

Since the arrival of Glasner, there has been a constant flow of links drawing the Eagles to wanting a new left-back.

This is always a surprise given how solid Mitchell has been, but the argument is that he doesn’t possess the attacking quality Daniel Munoz has on the right.

But that narrative could be changing, with a goal and an assist in his last five, against United and Liverpool too, showing he can do well further up the field.

Against United, besides scoring, he also created two chances and dominated down the left.

As the weeks pass, Mitchell looks more and more like a player Palace doesn’t need to worry about upgrading.
