Tottenham now have transfer meeting scheduled with club of ‘devastating’ summer target

Tottenham Hotspur now have a meeting scheduled with the club of one of their summer transfer targets.

Just over one week remains until the end of the 2023/24 campaign for Ange Postecoglou‘s side with Europa League football the target.

It’s been a turbulent season for Tottenham whose early season form has certainly tailed off in recent months.

But the Australian manager is looking set to lead Spurs to a much improved campaign having only been appointed last summer.

And this summer is going to see the 58-year-old clear out more of the players which he does not feel serve a purpose at Hotspur Way.

There is already a meeting set up with a European club over one of those players at Spurs and it could serve another purpose as Tottenham eye on of their players ahead of the window.

Tottenham transfer meeting now scheduled with European side

A number of players have already departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the arrival of Postecoglou last summer.

The majority of Postecoglou’s outcasts have been sent out on loan and this has provided a mixed bag of results.

There are players like Joe Rodon who have gone away and excelled in the Championship with Leeds United.

And then there is Tanguy Ndombele who will return in the coming weeks likely leaving Tottenham with a mammoth task to find a buyer for him.

Another player whose future is hanging in the balance ahead of the summer is Djed Spence who is currently on loan with Genoa.

According to TeamTalk, Spurs now have a meeting scheduled with the Serie A side about what is next for the right-back.

Genoa are believed to be keen to keep Spence on a permanent basis, but the report suggests this meeting could also spark talks about Albert Gudmundsson who Tottenham like a lot.

The Icelandic forward is a player who could be on the move this summer with Spurs set to battle the likes of Inter for his services.

Albert Gudmundsson could provide Spurs real attacking threat

Despite not playing for one of Serie A’s top sides, Gudmundsson has still put on a show in Italy this season.

The 26-year-old has returned 14 goals and three assists in Serie A alone and could offer Spurs cover in a range of positions.

With the likes of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski failing to impress of late, perhaps Gudmundsson could be the man to provide stern competition over the summer.

But with the Serie A champions also coming calling, Spurs may find it difficult to persuade the “devastating” forward to join in Radu Dragusin‘s footsteps.
