Crystal Palace are now in contact to make what would be a savvy move to sign a player compared with Kylian Mbappe.
Oliver Glasner will be desperate to strengthen this summer and on position he will be looking at his options in is the forward line.
Despite incredible form from Jean-Philippe Mateta who recently won the club’s Player of the Season award, Crystal Palace will need to strengthen in depth.
With Odsonne Edouard set to depart, along with interest sure to arrive for Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, Palace could have a lot of work to do.
So with that in mind, it seems like Palace has a Kylian Mbappe regen in mind for this summer.
Crystal Palace make contact over Wesley Gassova
It’s now been reported that 19-year-old Brazilian prospect Wesley Gassova has caught the eye of Palace.
The wonderkid has impressed this year, which has led to interest from the Eagles who’ve actually made contact over the signing.
But Dougie Freedman isn’t alone in being keen as Brighton and West Ham are also credited with interest according to Globo Esporte.

Liverpool has also shown interest recently according to the Standard which should indicate the level of talent he has.
The report also adds that Wesley’s agent has been in Europe lately, meeting with interested clubs ahead of a potential move this summer.
Wesley can be likened to Kylian Mbappe
Being a left winger by trade, it’s fair to assume Wesley would be a signing for the event that Eze is sold, although he’ll also have to battle a hopefully improved Matheus Franca.
However, the teenager would arrive with a high reputation and has even been compared with World Cup winner and PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe as El Futbolero explained while linking him with PSG earlier this month.
This would be a Brighton-esque move and they’re also said to be interested, so based on their recent form of recruiting, Palace are well placed to succeed in their own recruitment should it follow their arch-rivals’.
In the 2024 Serie A, Wesley has scored twice in five games, while also starring in the Copa do Brasil with two assists and a goal in three games.
A star in the making who Palace would do very well to sign this summer.
