Report: Aston Villa want to sign 'unstoppable' attacker once valued at £100m, could now cost just £12m

Aston Villa have enjoyed a brilliant season which currently has them in the driver’s seat for a Premier League top-four finish.

Unai Emery has masterminded a superb campaign for the Villans, in which they’ve gone on to reach the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.

The foundations at Villa are superb and there’s a lot of optimism ahead of next season. There’s also a good chance the Villans will strengthen in the summer transfer window.

Now, a report from Turkey has claimed that Villa have now set their sights on a Premier League icon who was once valued at £100million.

The player in question is Wilfried Zaha, who is currently playing at Galatasaray following two amazing stints at Crystal Palace.

According to Takvim, the Villans and West Ham are closely following the Ivory Coast international, who in turn fancies a move back to the Premier League.

The report also claims that Zaha is currently valued at €14million, which works out at around £12million.

Who is Aston Villa target Wilfried Zaha?

Prior to this season, Zaha was a fixture in the Premier League, having impressed in two spells at Palace either side of a stint at Manchester United.

The 31-year-old made 458 appearances for the Eagles, registering 90 goals and 62 assists. He has also won 31 Ivory Coast caps, scoring five times.

Zaha isn’t doing badly at Galatasaray either, with 10 goals and five assists under his belt from 39 outings since his free transfer in the summer.

Back in 2019, Palace were reported to have placed a £100million price tag on the ‘unstoppable‘ player to ward off interest from the likes of Arsenal.

Now, Villa could potentially get themselves a top attacker with extensive Premier League experience for less than £15million.

Let’s see what happens in the coming months. This is certainly an interesting lead, even if West Ham could prove tough rivals in the market.
