President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, who is currently in areas of key combat operations, the President stated in his evening address.

According to Zelenskyy, Syrskyi reported on the situation in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, which are currently the most challenging directions.

"He (Syrskyi) is currently in key battle areas - working with brigades, in combat positions. It is too early to draw conclusions, but the situation is under control,” the President emphasized.

He noted that Ukrainian defenders continue to destroy the enemy which is still trying to advance.

The Head of State said that Ukraine had reinforced several directions, including the Kharkiv direction.

Zelenskyy said that many soldiers from Kharkiv are defending the Kharkiv region. The President thanked them for their effectiveness.

The situation in the Kharkiv region

Last week, Russian troops concentrated tens of thousands of their soldiers on the border with Ukraine near the Kharkiv region.

The enemy then launched a large-scale offensive on the region. Against this backdrop, the shelling of border settlements has significantly intensified.

Yesterday, on May 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian defenders were able to achieve results in the Kharkiv region.
