‘I would love to’: Jurgen Klopp says he’d like to work with £4m Liverpool player for another 10 years

Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool next week.

Make no mistake about it, this is the end of an era at Anfield, but Jurgen Klopp has laid the foundations for a successful future for his successor.

Indeed, Klopp has bled in a number of young players over the past 18 months, and whoever replaces the German will inherit a fantastic young squad.

Speaking to The Anfield Wrap, Klopp has been discussing these young players, and he says that, in an ideal world, he’d like to work with these young footballers, particularly Harvey Elliott, for another 10 years.

Jurgen Klopp wishes he could work with Liverpool youngsters for longer

Klopp spoke about Liverpool’s young stars after being asked about the £4m man.

“Is there a part of you that would want another 10 years with Harvey Elliott?” Klopp was asked.

“Oh yeah, I have that, I would love to. All the kids who have come up. Conor Bradley, Bobby Clark, Jarrell Quansah,” Klopp said.

“It is incredible how good they are and I would love to be around to do that. I will follow it and watch it. I’m happy and I will phone them as long as they keep me in their list, I would love to do that absolutely,” Klopp said.

Jurgen Klopp had something special brewing

It’s such a shame that Klopp has felt the need to leave Liverpool at this juncture, because something very special could be brewing at Anfield.

These young stars could very well be the future of Liverpool, but there is an element of uncertainty around Anfield right now as nobody knows what this next era will look like.

If Klopp stayed at Liverpool, these young players would undoubtedly become stars on Merseyside, but whether or not they can follow the same trajectory under another manager remains to be seen.

Klopp has left behind the right foundations, now it’s up to the new manager to guide these players correctly.
