"Football they are playing": Tom Cairney shares "outrageous" verdict on Crystal Palace, Michail Antonio agrees

Crystal Palace have been on fire lately and now Oliver Glasner’s work has been praised by Tom Cairney and Michail Antonio.

Ever since Oliver Glasner got his plans implemented at Selhurst Park, things have been going swimmingly with five wins in six games.

Crystal Palace have been incredible of late and several star players have been on top form which has seen the Eagles go toe to toe with the best in the Premier League.

Jean-Philippe Mateta has been unstoppable in front of goal, while Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise have been at their sparkling best.

What have Tom Cairney and Michail Antonio been saying about Crystal Palace?

Speaking on this week’s edition of the Footballers Football Podcast, Cairney and Antonio were going through their end-of-season award picks.

This discussion led to the manager of the year debate, and while they agreed on Unai Emery winning, Cairney admitted Glasner would’ve been his pick had he arrived earlier.

“Although, if the Crystal Palace manager came in earlier. I would’ve said him.”

Cairney then continued to praise Palace and the football which has been played at Selhurst Park lately.

“The football they are playing at the minute and the way they are working is nothing short of outrageous. So he’ll be in demand already.”

Antonio then chimed in saying: “When we played them, I swear to you, the football they played was amazing.”

To which Cairney agreed: “Same.”

Both Cairney and Antonio have seen the Eagles in action

During the six-game unbeaten run for Palace, both Fulham and West Ham have faced off against this new Eagles side.

Fulham are the only side to take points from Palace in the past six games, drawing 1-1 at Craven Cottage last month with Jeffrey Schlupp scoring a phenomenal goal.

For Antonio’s West Ham, things were slightly worse in a 5-2 win for the Eagles which was the first of two emphatic victories in this run.

Due to both these games and the players experiencing the football Glasner has implemented at Palace, it’s safe to say that the Eagles are impressive on this recent run.
