Report: West Ham to do something with Lopetegui that's never been done in our 129-year history

Julen Lopetegui will imminently replace David Moyes as the new West Ham United manager.

West Ham have apparently given Julen Lopetegui a two-year deal to replace Moyes worth around £7 million.

Lopetegui is already planning a big shake up at the London Stadium, but he doesn’t intend to sell any of our key players aside from Lucas Paqueta.

The likes of Stan Collymore have cast doubts over whether the Spaniard is the right man for the job, whilst Spanish pundit Guillem Balague insists that his fellow countryman is exactly who we need to usher us on into an exciting new era.

I prefer to listen to Balague – someone who knows Lopetegui inside out.

The former Wolves boss needs our full backing. As long as there is tangible progress visible on the pitch regarding playing style, then we should all be behind him.

Lopetegui will have a very different role to Moyes, and it should suit our new way of operating much better…

West Ham have brand new plan for Julen Lopetegui

It’s all change for the Hammers it seems, with an entire new way of operating on the horizon.

Moyes was a man with all the power. He ran the club from top to bottom, ranging all the way from dealing with transfers to coaching the first-team players.

Lopetegui will have certain remits, but his main job will be to coach the players. And the Spaniard is being given a title that no other manager in our 129 year-old history has been adorned with…

According to The Athletic, Lopetegui will not be given the title of ‘manager’ – something that has never been done before at West Ham.

Tim Steidten will then be tasked with all transfers, both incomings and outgoings, after discussing with Lopetegui what type of players he needs to suit his system.

I’m convinced that West Ham will be on the right track by hiring Julen Lopetegui. As mentioned earlier though, we will all need to be patient before we see real results.

He is a top manager and with the new more continental system in place, I think the future could be very bright indeed.
