‘To be honest’: Tony Adams says one Arsenal player has been even better than Phil Foden this season

The Premier League season comes to a close on Sunday, and it’s almost time to crown Player of the Season.

The Player of the Season race has been more competitive than ever this season as numerous players have performed brilliantly this term.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Tony Adams has been discussing who he’d pick for his Player of the Season, and, unsurprisingly, he chose an Arsenal player.

Phil Foden may well be the frontrunner for this award, but according to Adams, Declan Rice woud be the worthy winner of Player of the Season.

Declan Rice is Player of the Season

Adams spoke about Rice, claiming that he’d be his Player of the Season.

“No I’d give it him now. Declan Rice is my man to be honest with you. He’s made a huge difference to Arsenal and he’s taken us closer to City again. Declan Rice is my Player of the Season,” Adams said.

Declan Rice has been very consistent

Declan Rice hasn’t been the most impactful player in the Premier League this season, but he might be the most consistent.

The England international has barely put a foot wrong since joining the Gunners, and it’s been remarkable to watch him adapt to life at Arsenal with so much ease.

Whether or not Rice ultimately ends up winning this award remains to be seen, but, given how good Phil Foden has been and the fact that Manchester City are likely to be crowned as champions this weekend, Rice may well be pipped to this award by his England teammate.

Regardless of individual awards, Rice can be very proud of how his debut season at Arsenal has gone, even if it doesn’t end with a Premier League title win or a Player of the Season award.

To earn this sort of praise from Tony Adams, you have to be a special player.
