Report: West Ham now want to sign relegated player Jurgen Klopp described as 'incredible'

West Ham United are set for a summer of changes.

Julen Lopetegui is about to come in to replace David Moyes, while there are still question marks around the future of Lucas Paqueta.

However, a summer transfer window doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, there will also be new additions at the London Stadium, and according to Alan Nixon, writing on his Patreon, Wes Foderingham could be one of the Hammers’ first summer additions.

West Ham want Wes Foderingham

According to this report, West Ham are keen to give Wes Foderingham another shot at life in the Premier League.

The goalkeeper spent this season at Sheffield United, but, with his contract set to expire in a few weeks’ time, he needs to find a new club.

Foderingham had a torrid campaign in a Sheffield United team that conceded 104 league goals, but, strangely, he had some bright moments.

Wes Foderingham proved himself this season

On paper, you could argue that Foderingham’s season was one of the worst we’ve ever seen in the Premier League.

Shipping 104 league goals in a campaign isn’t ideal to say the least.

However, to place the blame at the goalkeeper’s feet here would be remiss.

Foderingham did have his moments of brilliance. In fact, Jurgen Klopp actually described one of his saves as ‘incredible’ after Liverpool’s game against Sheffield United.

Of course, Foderingham wouldn’t be coming in as a number one at West Ham, but he would make for a decent deputy for Alphonse Areola.

Lukasz Fabianski’s contract is up next month, and one has to imagine that the Polish goalkeeper is now set to leave in light of this rumour.

Foderingham won’t be the biggest name West Ham sign this summer, but he’d be a solid body through the door to add a bit of goalkeeping depth.
