Spurs had a rough end to the season in which they managed just two wins in their last seven games. That cost them a top-four finish and they’ll be in the Europa League as a result.
Ange Postecoglou knows his side needs reinforcements in multiple areas of the pitch. A new striker is said to be on the agenda for Spurs, but a Champions League club have just entered talks with one of their targets.
Fabrizio Romano shares update on Tottenham-linked Serhou Guirassy
Serhou Guirassy has been on Tottenham’s radar for a long time now.
The North Londoners have been linked with a move to sign him since 2023, and after a phenomenal season, their interest has not gone away.
Reports have revealed that Ange Postecoglou has noticed Guirassy’s performances for Stuttgart and is thinking of making a move to sign him this summer.
The Guinea international scored 30 goals in all competitions in the recently concluded 2023/24 campaign. He was even included in the Bundesliga Team of the Season along with former Tottenham hero Harry Kane.
Guirassy, who has a £15 million release clause, would be a bargain signing for any club this summer, and Tottenham are right to consider him.
However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed today that Borussia Dortmund have made Guirassy their priority target for the upcoming transfer window.
What’s more is that the Champions League finalists are already in talks with Guirassy and his camp about a move to the Westfalenstadion before the start of the 2024/25 season.
Romano said in his Daily Briefing: “There has been interest from England, Italy and elsewhere, but what I can say now is that Borussia Dortmund are seriously working on this deal.
“They’ve made contact on the player side and they consider Guirassy one of their top targets for the summer transfer window. Still, we will have to understand the budget for Dortmund because they also want to sign Ian Maatsen from Chelsea and negotiate for Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.
“So, Guirassy is one of the priorities for Dortmund and I’m not aware of any negotiations for Randal Kolo Muani, despite reports from France. For Guirassy, however, some talks have already taken place and he’s one to follow for BVB.”

Ange Postecoglou made the bold decision of not replacing Harry Kane at Tottenham after the Englishman left in 2023.
Spurs relied on Heung-min Son and Richarlison up top, and to be fair to them, they did a decent job.
