Tottenham fans are all saying the same thing after Mikey Moore’s latest display for England U17s

Mikey Moore looks set to become the next star to emerge from Tottenham Hotspur’s academy set-up.

The 16-year-old made history against Manchester City last week as he became Tottenham’s youngest-ever player to feature in the Premier League.

Moore earned his first minutes for the club at the age of 16 years, nine months and three days – surpassing the previous record held by Dane Scarlett.

Ange Postecoglou handed Moore another chance to impress on the final day at Sheffield United, with the youngster replacing James Maddison in the 88th minute.

The talented winger expressed his pride after his debut but didn’t travel with the squad to Australia for a post-season friendly against Newcastle.

That’s due to Moore being involved in the Under-17s Euros with England and he put in an exceptional display against France last night.

Tottenham fans react to Moore’s latest international display

Moore was in action for England’s U17s last night and netted a brace in an impressive 4-0 win.

The youngster’s first was a well-taken header before he doubled his tally with an exceptional solo goal. He skipped past free French defenders before placing the ball into the bottom corner.

Following his brace for England’s U17s, Moore has received high praise from Tottenham fans on social media, with many wanting to see the youngster handed more minutes next season.

Reacting to Moore’s second of the evening, one fan wrote: “Second goal was [Diego] Maradona reborn.”

Another labelled him a ‘baller’ and called for Postecoglou to integrate Moore into the first-team next season.

“Generational talent. I repeat, generational talent. Mikey Moore, remember the name,” one supporter claimed.

Others labelled Moore a ‘special talent‘ while another fan dubbed his display against France as ‘so good‘.

What Ange Postecoglou has said about Moore

Moore has enjoyed a brilliant end to the season and a bright start to the U17s Euros.

Following his debut against City, Postecoglou said the youngster has a ‘long way to go’ but praised his performances in training.

He said: “I thought it was important. We’ve had him training with us for a while, I’ve been trying to see if we can get him some game time, because we’ve kept him out of the 21s as well, it’s a bit of a reward for him for working hard in the last two, three weeks as part of the first team squad, to give him that experience.

“He still has a long way to go, he’s only 16, but he’s a good kid and hopefully that encourages him.”

Next up for Moore is England’s second group stage game against Portugal Under-17s on Friday.
