Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou lands new job over Euro 2024

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has now landed a new job over the summer during the Euros.

The Australian’s first season at Tottenham has come to an end with the Lilywhites wrapping up their campaign in Melbourne, Australia with a friendly against Newcastle United.

Ange Postecoglou has admitted in a recent press conference he will be staying in his homeland for a few days before returning to Hotspur Way.

Transfer meetings will likely be lined up with Daniel Levy in north London but it seems the 58-year-old may now have another role to occupy him over the coming weeks.

The summer break is now upon the Spurs players with some of them only having a matter of weeks before representing their respective nations in various international competitions.

Ange Postecoglou set to secure new role during the Euros

As if the 2023/24 campaign and a busy summer transfer window with Tottenham are not enough to contend with, Postecoglou is now close to landing a new role this summer.

The Australian has already admitted changes will be happening at Spurs this summer with players set to leave.

A busy summer of transfers is seemingly awaiting Tottenham with the Lilywhites looking to address a number of areas across their squad.

Postecoglou has now secured a role with ITV Sport to become part of their pundit squad to feature in their Euros coverage this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, ITV have been battling it out with BBC Sport to secure the services of the 58-year-old with the former set to win the race.

Postecoglou is viewed as one of the Premier League’s entertaining managerial figures and could be seen as giving ITV the upper hand over the BBC in their coverage.

Should Spurs fans be concerned that Ange Postecoglou may be picking up more work?

The Euros is set to kick off midway through June with the final set to take place a month later in Berlin, Germany.

Tottenham’s pre-season is set to kick off around two weeks later in Japan before they then move on to Heung-min Son‘s homeland, South Korea.

So Postecoglou and the Spurs players will enjoy some down time before returning to training at Hotspur Way.

How frequently Postecoglou will feature on ITV over the course of the competition is yet to be seen, but he has already admitted he has a holiday planned in Greece.

“I was born in Greece, I very much feel Greek and I’ll definitely be there this summer like I am every summer but as far as coaching goes I’m happy where I am,” he said prior to the friendly against Newcastle.
