Alasdair Gold reveals what those at Tottenham are now saying about a move for Callum Hudson-Odoi

Alasdair Gold has now provided insight into how those at Tottenham Hotspur really feel about a potential move for Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Ange Postecoglou has made it very clear that this summer he is expecting to see some changes around Hotspur Way.

Tottenham‘s recent trip to Melbourne, Australia also saw the 58-year-old share his desire to add some strength to their frontline.

Over recent days, that has seen Spurs linked heavily with a potential move for the Nottingham Forest winger, Hudson-Odoi.

Forest could find themselves in a position where they are forced to sell some of their assets again to comply with FFP having already been docked points.

With the summer transfer window now just weeks away from opening, Alasdair Gold has shared what he has heard coming out of Spurs about the 23-year-old.

What’s the word out of Tottenham on Callum Hudson-Odoi?

European football will return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season and with that comes the requirement to go into the campaign with a strong squad.

The future of Timo Werner remains unsolved with the German forward’s option to be made permanent still not taken up by Tottenham.

Although Spurs could sign the 28-year-old for £25m, it is now believed thatthey are looking to negotiate new terms with RB Leipzig over another loan stay.

Werner’s uncertain future in north London could mean Spurs turn their attention elsewhere and Hudson-Odoi is a player who could fit that bill.

But according to Alasdair Gold, the word coming out of Tottenham is not as convincing as some of the reports which have circulated recently.

“Within Spurs, there seems to be a pushback against that. The current feeling seems to be that he’s not someone they’re going for,” he said.

Another twist in the Hudson-Odoi transfer saga which has picked up over the last week after Spurs previously snubbed a move for him last summer when he was leaving Chelsea.

Timo Werner may still be the better option for Spurs

The transfer window is not even open yet but Spurs are already being linked with names and Hudson-Odoi is certainly a promising young talent.

Having signed for Forest last summer, the 23-year-old has returned eight goals and one assist at the City Ground this season.

In comparison, Werner netted twice and provided three assists for Spurs having joined in the January transfer window.

However, Werner’s vast experience in the Champions League could prove massive for Spurs next season when they’re playing Europa League football.

Rotation is going to be key for Postecoglou if Spurs are going to succeed next season and Werner has shown he is capable of coming into the side and having an effect.
