Report: Crystal Palace now add £30m Brazilian to transfer shortlist, he has a rocket of a left foot

Crystal Palace are looking like one of the busiest teams in this summer’s transfer market, and now another player has been added to the list.

It has been a busy week behind the scenes for Crystal Palace if recent reports are anything to go by as Dougie Freedman looks to bolster the squad.

Oliver Glasner will be delighted with what he’s seeing if even half the rumours turn out to be true as it’ll see the squad finally having the depth needed to push further up the table.

Chadi Riad looks nailed on to be the first signing with his medical expected this week before a move from Real Betis.

Meanwhile, Daichi Kamada has been linked heavily as Palace have offered the Japanese midfielder a contract already worth £81k-a-week.

But now the Eagles have been linked with an absolute gem.

Crystal Palace add Gabriel Sara to the shortlist

Palace need options this summer as below the first team, the club are weak in depth and now one player is being targeted who could do an excellent job in multiple areas.

Norwich City’s Gabriel Sara is the player who has now been linked with a move to Palace, as the BBC’s Alex Howell has reported that the Brazilian is on a shortlist for Palace and is being tracked.

A move to sign Sara would likely cost the Eagles in the region of £30 million which sounds expensive but after the season Sara has had, it’s hardly unreasonable.

He now finds himself on a shortlist that Freedman will be presiding over, which bodes well for the chances of this move happening considering the Director of Football’s keenness to use the Championship market.

Sara should be among the top targets at Selhurst Park this summer

After an incredible season, it’d be a shock if Sara wasn’t snapped up by a Premier League club and it should be Palace who sign the 24-year-old.

This season he scored 13 and assisted 12 in the Championship while being played in various positions including defensive midfield.

The versatile South American has been praised and he’s had his left foot singled out as a great weapon by The Athletic.

“Scouting reports picked out Sara’s high technical level, as well as the quality and power of his left foot.”

Sara could fit into Glasner’s team in various areas, where Michael Olise plays or in midfield alongside Adam Wharton and he can do both to a high degree.
