Richarlison addresses ‘fake news’ surrounding his future at Tottenham ahead of the summer

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has now addressed the speculation currently surrounding his future in north London.

The summer transfer window is now just weeks away from opening with Ange Postecoglou set to oversee a number of changes at Tottenham.

Having already greenlit the departures of numerous players since arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer, several players are now being linked with a move away.

A list of 15 players has reportedly been drawn up at Hotspur Way with players who would be allowed to move on this summer.

One of the players who has been listed as a potential summer exit is the Brazilian striker, Richarlison.

With the 27-year-old’s future in north London up in the air, he has now taken to social media to provide an insight on where he sees his future at.

Richarlison issues update on his Tottenham future

The Lilywhites are believed to be in the market for a new number nine this summer having sold Harry Kane last season.

A number of targets are said to be on the radar for Tottenham ahead of the window opening and The Spurs News understands one of the most prominent is Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez.

Interest in Richarlison is believed to be coming from Saudi Arabia after their failed attempts to land him last summer.

The Spurs News has been told that the Lilywhites would consider selling the striker if an offer was to come in close to the £60m which they paid for him.

However, the striker has now made it very clear where he views his future ahead of the window opening and it is not good news for any Spurs fan who wants to see the striker moved on.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the 27-year-old took to his Instagram account to address the speculation surrounding his future.

“I left my vacation aside and came to work in SP [Sao Paulo]. To be able to come back better next season,” he said.

“About what has been happening in the media these last days is all fake news. Will not leave England next season.”

Tottenham must still add to Richarlison up top this summer

Richarlison refusing to leave this summer would not be a disaster for Tottenham as he has shown he can be a very competent striker.

The Brazilian enjoyed a fine run of form which saw him net nine goals in 10 Premier League games before picking up his knee issue.

What will be a real concern for Spurs going into the new season is if they keep Richarlison and do not bring in another top quality striker.

This season alone, the Brazilian has endured three separate injuries which severely hindered his campaign in a Spurs shirt.

Having Richarlison fighting for his spot as the second-choice striker could be a huge boost for Spurs going into the new campaign.

However, if Spurs go into the new campaign with Richarlison still as the main striker may see the same issues prevail – even if the club do add some further firepower on the flanks.
