Nottingham Forest will 'almost certainly' let two duds signed by Steve Cooper leave this summer - journalist

Nottingham Forest look extremely likely to let two underwhelming players signed by Steve Cooper leave the club this summer.

It promises to be a pretty busy summer at theCity Ground once again.

The Reds have remained in the Premier League for a third successive campaign and it’s now time for the team to kick on.

Forest have to sell someone to comply with financial fair play but there will be money available for incoming deals too.

The challenge for Nuno Espirito Santo is to get some quality added to the squad and hope that most of the star players are kept.

A streamlining process will likely take place, however, and some players will have to leave.

Now, a top Forest-supporting journalist has claimed that two signings from last summer look like leaving this summer.

Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos could leave Forest

Daniel Taylor is an award-winning journalist and he’s given an interview this week on the future of some Forest players.

He’s explained that two goalkeepers; Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos could now leave the club this summer.

The pair have been at Forest for just one season but Taylor thinks both will crave first-team football.

He told The Athletic: “Turner and Vlachodimos both want to play, so they will almost certainly leave.”

Forest need to get goalkeeper signing spot on

Although Forest did do some good work last summer, the signing of the two goalkeepers proved very poor.

Vlachodimos looked like he might do the business in hindsight but in the five Premier League games he played, he didn’t set the league light.

Turner has been riddled with errors and he can’t be trusted by Espirito Santo any longer, with Matz Sels pinching his place in January.

The Belgian is a solid goalkeeper and it’d be no drama if he was the number one next season.

However, Forest will need another goalkeeper if these two leave and Forest have to get this one right.

With Sels now in his thirties, it would be nice to think that the Reds can attract a younger stopper to come in and add competition.

As a Premier League club a solid goalkeeper is a must and Espirito Santo has to get this piece of business right this summer.
