‘Probably’: Sky journalist says ‘incredible’ Arsenal player is likely to leave this summer

Arsenal will shake-up their squad again this summer.

Once again, the Gunners fell just short in the Premier League title race last season, and now, Mikel Arteta has to, once again, make some ruthless decisions with his squad.

Incomings and outgoings are needed this summer, and according to Sky Sports Dharmesh Sheth, Eddie Nketiah is likely to leave Arsenal.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast, Sheth stated that he doesn’t expect Nketiah to be at Arsenal next season.

Eddie Nketiah expected to leave

Sheth shared his verdict on the ‘incredible’ attacker and what will happen this summer.

“Eddie Nketiah has not long signed a new contract at Arsenal, but he’s well down the pecking order there. Do I expect him to be at Arsenal next season? Probably not,” Sheth said.

Nketiah’s time is up

As sad as it is to say this about a homegrown player, Nketiah’s time at Arsenal is up.

The striker barely got a game towards the end of the season, and with rumours doing the rounds about a new striker coming to the Emirates this summer, the England international is best off leaving.

Of course, Nketiah remains a very talented player, and whoever signs him this summer will be getting a striker with bags of potential.

Ultimately, in years to come, Nketiah could still prove that he’s good enough for a club like Arsenal, but, at the moment, he isn’t trusted to start for the Gunners and be a key man for the north London club.

Where Nketiah ends up this summer remains to be seen, but, depending on Arsenal’s asking price, he should have plenty of suitors within the Premier League and perhaps even on the continent.

A move away from Arsenal may be best for all parties involved here as Arsenal need to kick on and Nketiah needs more minutes.
