Is Jobe Bellingham the brother of Jude Bellingham?

One question that appears quite often surrounds whether Jobe Bellingham is the brother of England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.

What has Jude Bellingham said about Jobe Bellingham?

After winning the Golden Boy award in December 2023, Jude Bellingham named his brother Jobe as a player to watch out for in the future.

Speaking to Tuttosport about three players for the future, he said: “First of all, Arda Guler is a phenomenon, we see him training and we are delighted with him.

T”hen my former teammate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, from Borussia Dortmund.

“And finally, my brother Jobe, a thoroughbred striker like our father. If Sunderland were to be promoted to the Premier League, watch out for him.”

Why does Bellingham have “Jobe” on the back of his shirt?

Sunderland coach Mike Dodds has previously discussed how tough it is for Jobe Bellingham to walk his own path separate from his brother, suggesting that may be the reason he has changed the name on the back of his shirt to “Jobe” rather than “Bellingham”.

Speaking in April, via the Athletic, Dodds said: “Jobe’s life is difficult anyway. I don’t think anyone will truly understand what it is like to be Jobe.

“If he goes anywhere in the world, he’s Jude’s brother, he’s not Jobe. Him having his own identity is something he desperately craves.

“As he gets older and gets more accolades and he does wonderful things in football, he’ll be appreciated for who he is.

“He obviously changed the name on the back of his shirt, so he’s desperately fighting to be recognised for him. It’s always going to be a battle for him, that’s the reality.”
