Cesc Fabregas says Man City have a player who’s even better than Javier Zanetti

Cesc Fabregas has suggested that Manchester City have someone who is better than Javier Zanetti.

Having played 737 senior games throughout his club career, featuring for clubs in England, Spain, France and Italy, the former midfielder has played with and against a wide range of top-level stars over the past 20 years.

Then with Zanetti, he made 858 appearances for Inter Milan and won numerous trophies with the club he captained for such a long time.

Now though, Fabregas has claimed that someone in Manchester City’s current squad is better than the former Argentina defender.

In a recent video shared on Goal’s official TikTok channel, Fabregas was asked to pick between certain past and present players who have played for either Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho.

When asked to pick between Kyle Walker and Zanetti, who played in 106 games at Inter under Mourinho, Fabregas opted for the City captain.

At the age of 34, the Englishman has made 612 senior club appearances, with 301 of them coming in a City shirt.

During his time at the Manchester club, Walker has now lifted six Premier League titles – which is more than the five Serie A trophies Zanetti won at Inter – and won numerous other domestic and European titles.

Walker and Zanetti have had unbelievable careers

While both players have had longevity in their careers and won a lot of titles in the process, we feel that they should be considered as two of the best right-backs football has ever seen.

However, with Fabregas picking Walker over the Inter legend, this showcases how highly the Spaniard thinks of the England international, which should delight a lot of City supporters.

Moving forward, if the 34-year-old can continue to play regularly and add even more titles to his cabinet, we think that Walker should be recognised as the best right-back in Premier League history.
