'It isn't a secret': Monumental boost as explosive player who's perfect for West Ham breaks silence

Well, well, well. Youssouf Fofana is seemingly there for the taking for West Ham United this summer.

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move to sign Youssouf Fofana over the past year or so, and Tim Steidten was said to be extremely frustrated when we failed to sign him last summer.

The 25-year-old is exactly the type of midfielder we need at the London Stadium, what with his athleticism, power and dynamism.

If Julen Lopetegui really is to take us to the next level, he needs to add some real energy to his central midfield ranks.

Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse are decent players but they both lack the athletic qualities that we need.

We need a proper box-to-box type player to come into the side and play just in front of Edson Alvarez, and behind whoever is deployed in the attacking midfield role.

Fofana is the absolute perfect man for that job, and now it seems like he’s there for the taking for the Hammers.

Perfect West Ham signing Youssouf Fofana breaks silence

It’s such a shame that the Hammers didn’t push harder to sign the France international powerhouse last summer.

However, we might just have a second bite of the cherry now.

During a press conference, Fofana opened up on his future, as quoted by the Evening Standard.

The Frenchman said, “I have spoken about it with the hierarchy, it isn’t a secret,” he told a press conference.

“We had exchanges and they agreed to accompany me in this new stage.”

“We were in agreement that we would accompany each other in this process in which everyone should be a winner, be it me or the club.”

The 25-year-old has an incredible physique, but he’s not all about pace and power. The Frenchman is very good with the ball at his feet. He has been described as an ‘unreal’ midfielder by Monaco’s official website.

He’s allegedly available for just £17 million as well this summer. Signing him should be an absolute no-brainer for Lopetegui.

Whether West Ham will be able to win the race for Youssouf Fofana this summer remains to be seen though.
