‘He knows’: Alan Shearer says £378k-a-week Man City man has outshone everyone in the Premier League

Alan Shearer has heaped praise on one key figure at Manchester City for what he’s done this season.

After winning the Treble last season, the Blues followed that up by winning the UEFA SuperCup and the FIFA Club World Cup to further increase their status as the best club side in world football.

They also then made even more history by becoming the first side to win four Premier League titles in a row and their sixth in seven years.

Even though the Blues missed out on regaining the Champions League and FA Cup, one figure at the Manchester club has found himself on the end of some significant praise for what he’s done throughout the campaign.

In a recent article shared on the official Premier League website, numerous pundits were asked to name who they felt the best manager of the season was.

After Shearer named Pep Guardiola as his choice for this particular accolade, the former striker had this to say about it.

He said: “It really couldn’t be anyone else, could it? He knows how to get the very best out of his players, every week, every season. Four consecutive Premier League titles is testament to that.”

Guardiola once again showed why he’s the best

In the Premier League, Guardiola saw his side win 28 of their 38 games, drawing seven and losing three along the way to win the title, beating Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Liverpool in Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield to the trophy.

As well as that, the Blues scored more goals (96) than any other side in the division.

Taking all of that into account, it’s easy to see why Shearer has praised the £378k-a-week City boss and named him as the best manager in the league for this season.
