Report: Man United now also keen to sign 'mesmeric' £60k-a-week Wolves star, as well Kilman & Gomes

Manchester United are reportedly keen to sign another Wolves player, after recently being linked with Max Kilman and Joao Gomes.

Wolves fans are hoping to see a number of new faces come in this summer, and are optimistic about the next couple of months.

Last summer, there was an exodus at Molineux. But there won’t be a situation like that this time around. However, there could still be one or two big sales, with Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri the two most likely departures.

But there is a new player from Wolves to have been linked away from the club this weekend.

And that player is Matheus Cunha, who is wanted by Manchester United.

It has been suspiciously quiet about Matheus Cunha since the end of the season.

The Brazilian was amazing for Wolves in 2023/24, finishing the campaign with 22 goal involvements.

There hadn’t really been any kind of speculation about his future – until now.

According to the Mirror, Cunha is now a target for Manchester United, who are big fans of the player. Apparently, he ‘ perfectly fits the profile of players Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to attract as he tries to move United forward – aggressive, dynamic and ambitious’.

The ‘mesmeric’ 25-year-old is believed to be high on United’s list of targets, since they only have two strikers. They are said to have tracked him for some time.

Cunha, of course, starred for Wolves against United in the very first game of 2023/24, although he did somehow wind up on the losing side that night.

Cunha has been with Wolves since January 2023. He joined under the watch of Julen Lopetegui and struggled initially, but has shone under Gary O’Neil.

Wolves cannot lose Cunha

So that’s Manchester United showing interest in yet another Wolves player, with Max Kilman and Joao Gomes having both been linked to the Red Devils in recent months.

Simply put, Wolves cannot lose Matheus Cunha this summer. If he’s going to go then it needs to be an absolutely extortionate fee.

The £60,000-a-week ace is far too important to lose. We saw the impact of when he got injured, with Cunha having been one of Wolves’ most important players last term.

Cunha has gone to a new level under O’Neil, and is a major threat for Wanderers with his ball-carrying and ability in the final third.

Wolves fans are very angry right now given the whole season ticket price hikes situation. But many would be absolutely furious if the board decided to cash in on Cunha.
