Report: Crystal Palace will bid for "very quick" £30m winger if Ebere Eze or Michael Olise leave Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace will bid for a winger compared to Sadio Mane if Michael Olise or Ebere Eze leave Selhurst Park this summer.

The Eagles are a club with a plan under Oliver Glasner and Dougie Freedman – who has already secured one signing for the Austrian in Chadi Riad.

That seems to be a move done in the expectation that Marc Guehi departs, and now, Crystal Palace have decided who will be targeted if Ebere Eze or Michael Olise leave too…

Crystal Palace shortlist Crysencio Summerville

A story from the Mirror now claims that Crystal Palace will make a move to sign Leeds United No.10 Crysencio Summerville if Olise or Eze are pinched.

The Dutchman has just been named EFL Championship Player of the Season after a stunning 2023/24 campaign with the Whites – in which he scored 21 goals and provided ten assists in 49 appearances.

Leeds United find themselves in a difficult position after losing the Championship Play-Off Final to Southampton, with the Daily Mail claiming that sales will now be needed to satisfy Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Interestingly, it was even said that Summerville is most likely to be sold first, with Ben Jacobs claiming that those at Elland Road could accept £30m.

The Mirror add that Crystal Palace have held a long standing interest in the Netherlands U21 international, although sources only expect Freedman to bid if either Olise or Eze depart.

22-year-old would be a brilliant signing

While Summerville is more of a natural replacement for Eze than he would be Olise – given his tendency to cut inside from the left on his stronger right foot – the Dutchman would still be a superb signing regardless.

The Rotterdam-born winger is immensely skilful, direct and has also unlocked an impressively consistent level of end product, which earned him a comparison to Liverpool legend Mane in the Express.

Enzo Maresca – who is set to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea – also described Summerville as a “very quick” forward, so it would seem the Leeds United wonderkid would fit into Glasner’s high intensity, attacking style quite well.

Hopefully, we can keep Eze and Olise together, but if Summerville does arrive to replace one of the duo, it would not be a complete nightmare.
