Liverpool are interested in signing a £12m-rated midfielder who has been likened to Jude Bellingham, according to a recent report.
Arne Slot has taken the reigns at Anfield and will be keen to make his own imprint on the squad in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool fell away in the latter part of the season and evidently need to bolster their ranks, particularly in midfield.
That said, they’ve just been linked with a highly-rated number eight.
Liverpool interested in Assan Ouedraogo
According to The Mirror, Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Schalke midfielder Assan Ouedraogo, who has been likened to Jude Bellingham.
Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on the 18-year-old, who has a £12m release clause.
The clause must be triggered by mid-June, so any forthcoming deal will likely take place in the next two weeks.
Bayern Munich have recently pulled out of the race for Ouedraogo due to financial reasons, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Assan Ouedraogo’s father speaks on future
Ouedraogo’s father Alassane spoke to Sky Germany and confirmed that his son has received interest from the Premier League.
“We have not yet made a commitment to any club. What we can confirm is that we have received several written offers,” Alassane said.
“Not just from Bayern. Many clubs, especially from the Premier League, have been very interested in Assan. There are teams from England who would like to sign Assan directly for their professional team in the summer. We will make the right decision soon.”
