Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline updates as of June 3

Frontline update (Vitalii Nosach, RBC-Ukraine)

Since the beginning of the day, June 3, 28 combat clashes have taken place on the Russia-Ukraine frontline. Russian troops fired 472 times at the positions of Ukrainian soldiers and settlements using various types of weapons, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Situation in the sectors

The Russian military did not conduct active assault operations in theKharkiv sector. Ukrainian soldiers are building up their defense capabilities.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russians continue to attack near Nevske. The situation is tense.

In theLyman sector, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to approach the positions of the Defense Forces near Terny.

In the Siversk sector, Russians have already made 5 attempts to break through Ukrainian defensive lines in the areas of Vyimka and Rozdolivka. One attack was repelled, and four are ongoing. The situation is under control.

In the Kramatorsk sector, an enemy attack near Klishchiivka was repelled. Fighting is currently ongoing near Ivanivske. The situation is under control.

The situation in thePokrovsk sector remains tense. There are currently 11 firefights in the areas of Zelene Pole, Novopokrovsk, Novoselivka Persha, Kalynove, and Nevelske.

In the Kurakhove sector, three firefights continue in the areas of Paraskoviivka and Vodiane. Ukrainian defense forces control the situation.

Two Russian attempts to advance in the direction of Robotyne and Mala Tokmachka were stopped in the Orikhiv sector.

An enemy attack in the area of Krynky was repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector.

"The situation has not changed significantly in other areas," the General Staff added.

Russia's offensive

In early May, Russia launched an offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region. The enemy reached Vovchansk and now controls about 30% of its territory.

According to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian troops are likely to have advanced in the Kharkiv sector, Donbas, and the Krynky area.
