Adele’s blood was boiling over the weekend when she yelled at a fan because she thought he yelled ‘pride sucks’ as she sat on stage. However, a new video from the incident from a different angle has appeared, and it seems the guy didn’t say that all – but he still received reprimanding from the award-winning star.
The music star went viral over the weekend, after a clip on social media showed her ranting at an audience member. Adele was recorded asking them if they were ‘f***ing stupid’ because she thought he yelled through the crowd ‘PRIDE SUCKS’, but it’s now come to light he didn’t say that at all. The celebrity quickly jumps in to reprimand him, with cheers and support from the crowd.
Adele yells at fan after hearing ‘pride sucks’
In the video, the 35-year-old is sitting by her piano, taking some downtime to chew the fat with her fans, which she does at her Las Vegas show.
The performance took place on the first day of Pride month, and many in the audience and on social media thought they heard him show ‘pride sucks’ while Adele is talking about her week.
She begins: “Friday is basically the beginning of my week, because that’s when I work, basically.”
Then a man shouts: “Work sucks”, but Adele reacts straight away.
“Did you just say pride sucks? Did you come to my show and just say that pride sucks, are you f***ing stupid?.
The singer-songwriter added: “Don’t be so f***ing ridiculous. You got nothing to say? Shut up, alright”.
Now another clip has surfaced, and it appears he does say work over pride.
And one Twitter (X) user claims they were near the concert-goer and confirms he didn’t shout pride sucks at Adele.
He ‘must be mortified’
Fans have reacted to the update, and are definitely feeling for the guy for just talking about how he feels regarding the work-week.
‘He must be crying so bad,” quipped one.
“He must have been mortified,” added another.
While a third suggested: “Actually, poor him! But it’s also something to flex with, ‘Adele is my biggest hater for something I didn’t say'”.
Someone else echoed: “In fairness, she was talking about working at weekends, then he shouted. It does sound like and makes more sense that he shouted ‘work sucks.'”
And a fourth said: “Haha nooo, I thought to myself, what if she did not hear correctly….”
Adele has spoken out in support of the LGBTQ+ community more than once, saying queer people were her ‘soulmates’.
She later said her 2011 hit, Set Fire To The Rain, was intended to be a gay anthem.
