Andy Cole says if he was playing today, he would love to work with £378,000-a-week man at Man City

Andy Cole has revealed that if he was playing today, he would like to work with one man at Manchester City.

Cole is renowned for being a Manchester United legend and one of the club’s greatest-ever players.

However, with Manchester City dominating English football the way they have over the past few years, legends like the Englishman understandably hold all their big names in high regard.

Andy Cole admits he would love working with one Man City man

Perhaps several ex-City players would have made similar claims about Cole, other United players and Sir Alex Ferguson.

In a Q&A on Reddit, Andy Cole was quizzed about which manager he would like to work with in today’s game and one of the names he took was Pep Guardiola.

Cole replied: “Pep [Guardiola], [Jurgen] Klopp.”

The £378,846-a-week manager has attained such legendary status that rivalries must be set aside to acknowledge how special it must be to be coached by him.

Pep Guardiola and Andy Cole would form a great duo

The fact that Andy Cole named Pep Guardiola, despite having been managed by Sir Alex Ferguson is an indicator that he holds him in high esteem.

In our view, the pair would have formed a cracking duo.

The Catalan is known to get the best out of strikers such as Samuel Eto’o, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Aguero, Erling Haaland and Andy Cole would have been no different.

The retired frontman scored a staggering 187 goals during his spell in the Premier League while taking just one penalty — with only Wayne Rooney (208), Harry Kane (213) and Alan Shearer (260) scoring more than him.

Guardiola manages to coach teams into scoring goals galore and creating several chances for their strikers.

Furthermore, with both Pep Guardiola and Andy Cole being serial winners, their working relationship would likely have been excellent.
