'Special' £60m Premier League player would be the perfect signing for Enzo Maresca's Chelsea - opinion

Now the dust has settled around the managerial appointment at Chelsea, talk predictably is beginning to turn to the transfer situation at the club.

Enzo Maresca has finally been offically announced as the new head coach at Stamford Bridge, and it has already been reported the club want to give him a platform to succeed this summer.

There is likely to be a number of additions this season, with centre-back and striker two roles that have been mentioned as ones which could be upgraded.

When taking a look at Maresca’s Leicester side from last season, there was a lot of impotence in attack on the wingers who he started, and their ability to run at defenders.

While Chelsea have young players such as Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk working to nail down these roles in West London, you can’t help but feel the quality can be strengthened.

Michael Olise the perfect signing for Chelsea

If the wide players are going to be key for the Italian again in his new job, then the addition of Michael Olise could end up being the perfect one this summer.

It has been widely reported that the Blues remain interested in signing him after their efforts last summer, and another fine season has kept him at the forefront of the conversation for young stars in England.

While his release clause sits at the higher £60m mark in comparison to last season, this kind of investment is a must in order to back the new managaer.

Despite injuries hitting his campaign last year, he still contributed 10 goals in the Premier League, a figure only beaten by Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson from the Chelsea squad.

This would be harsh on Madueke who had a strong end to the campaign, however Olise possesses quality that the Blues simply don’t have in their squad right now, and would be a real boost to Maresca’s prospects.
