Shock Emerson Palmieri claim emerges less than two years into West Ham career

A really concerning claim has just been made about West Ham United fan favourite Emerson Palmieri.

Italian left-back Emerson Palmieri joined West Ham from Chelsea in the summer of 2022 for a fee believed to be worth around £13 million.

The best compliment I can give the 29-year-old is that the Hammers are a far worse team when he’s not playing.

Julen Lopetegui undoubtedly has big plans for Emerson – he’s far and away the best left-back at the London Stadium.

His ability to play in the wing-back role will also provide Lopetegui with the option of playing a 3-5-2 system, if he so chooses.

Emerson has become one of the four most important players at West Ham, alongside Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta.

Now though, Lopetegui has been rocked by the latest revelation regarding the Italian ace…

Surprise claim emerges about West Ham ace Emerson Palmieri

The Italian is a hugely popular figure in the East End of London.

He has been brilliant for us over the past 14 months or so, after a slow start to life at the London Stadium.

Now though, his time with West Ham could well be done and dusted it seems.

According to a report from ASRomaLive.it, Roma want to sign the 29-year-old Hammers left-back, and the player himself is keen to leave the London Stadium this summer.

Emerson currently has two years remaining on his West Ham deal, so the club may well consider selling him, as this summer will be the best chance we have of getting a decent fee for him.

However, I really hope the report isn’t true. I absolutely love the Italy international and truly believe that he has so much more to offer the club.

Emerson Palmieri was one of West Ham United’s best and most consistent performers last season, there is no doubt about that, and I’m really hoping that he remains with us for at least another few years.

The report coming out of Italy is a hugely concerning one though. If he does leave us to rejoin Roma after just two years at the London Stadium, it really would be a big shock.
