Report: Arne Slot could make 'promising' £17m Brazil international his first signing at Liverpool

Arne Slot could make a ‘promising’ £17m Brazil international his first signing at Liverpool, according to a recent report.

Slot will be eager to make his own imprint on the squad in the fast approaching summer transfer window and it seems a number of targets have already been identified.

With Alisson rumoured to depart Anfield, Slot has now picked out his replacement, a £17m-rated Brazillian.

Liverpool interested in signing Bento

According to Sports Zone, Liverpool are closely tracking Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento, who is valued at £17m.

Atletico Madrid, Inter and Milan are also keeping tabs on the two-cap Brazil international and it’s thought he’s ‘ready’ to join a European side.

The ‘promising’ 24-year-old could potentially replace Alisson, who has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Although, the Liverpool number one has hinted at staying in a recent interview.

“Now we have a huge challenge in front of us. Change of manager, we don’t know too much about him but I’m sure he’ll work a lot to put his mentality across,” Alisson said.

Liverpool should stick with Alisson

It seems like Alisson is keen to remain at Anfield and work with Slot, so Liverpool should dismiss any forthcoming proposal from the Middle East and continue with their world class shot-stopper.

Unless Bento joins as a number two, Slot should cool his interest in the Brazillian and allocate those funds elsewhere.

A defensive midfielder should be a priority target this summer and perhaps even a striker to replace Darwin Nunez, who has misfired of late.

A goalscoring winger also must be considered.
