'That figure': How much Arsenal could sell Emile Smith Rowe for after claims Fulham want to sign him - journalist

Arsenal are expected to receive plenty of offers for Emile Smith Rowe this summer, with Fulham, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace all linked with a move to sign him.

The Gunners’ focus will be on incomings as they look to finally get past Manchester City in the 2024/25 Premier League title race.

However, a number of players could leave Arsenal too, and Smith Rowe is one of them. He is of interest to several clubs in the Premier League and abroad.

How much Arsenal can sell Emile Smith Rowe for this summer

Emile Smith Rowe is a fan favourite at Arsenal.

The Englishman was a star when he first broke through under Mikel Arteta. He, along with Bukayo Saka, was the biggest positive during the Gunners’ rebuild.

Saka has gone on to become a superstar, but injuries have really stalled Smith Rowe’s career.

The Hale End graduate missed most of the 2022/23 season due to a groin issue and barely played in the following campaign as well – Arteta preferred other players.

That has led to reports that Arsenal could sell him, and Fulham are one of the clubs interested in signing Smith Rowe this summer.

TBR Football exclusively revealed that Brentford, Brighton, Wolves and Crystal Palace are also keeping an eye on the midfielder’s situation at Arsenal.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are said to be interested in Smith Rowe as are Serie A giants Napoli, who are ready to accept the Arsenal man in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Victor Osimhen.

The big question for the Gunners now, if they decide to sell him, is to figure out the right price. Journalist Dean Jones has shared that the Gunners can hope for £35 million, but £30 million will likely be the starting point.

He told GiveMeSport: “In terms of value, he’s a tricky one to gauge because he is easily a £40million player, but because of his lack of game time, that figure might be hard to hit.

“Arsenal could certainly hope for £35million, but I think we might be looking at £30million as a starting point when offers are landing.”

Arsenal could break club record with Smith Rowe

Arsenal are arguably the worst sellers among the big clubs in the Premier League.

The Gunners, in their entire history, have sold just four players for a fee of more than £25 million – Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona, Folarin Balogun to Moncao, Alex Iwobi to Everton and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool.

The last on the list above is their record sale – that stands at just £35 million (Arsenal Insider).

Jones has claimed above that Arsenal can hope for £35 million for Smith Rowe. If the Gunners can find a way to get a little more than that, they will break their sale record this summer.

However, history shows that the Gunners are terrible sellers, which is a bad sign ahead of the start of the summer transfer window.
