Report: AC Milan have asked for £38m player on loan, Chelsea have said no

Chelsea have a warning for AC Milan and other clubs this summer.

In the last two transfer windows, Chelsea loaned out several players.

In January, the likes of Ian Maatsen and Andrey Santos left the club in temporary moves. And last summer, Romelu Lukaku and Kepa Arrizabalaga were a couple of high-profile names who joined other teams on loan.

However, with Chelsea possibly needing to make money in the upcoming transfer window because of profit and sustainability rules, it does not look like they are going to be too open to more loan deals for certain players.

Milan have just found that out it seems.

Chelsea make stance on recent loanee clear

Chelsea are not going to loan out players such as Maatsen and Lukaku again.

Maatsen has a £35m release clause in his contract that the Blues want to see activated, while Lukaku is an expensive asset that they will not want to keep lending to people.

According to gianlucadimarzio.com, Milan have asked about taking the striker on loan but Chelsea have said no.

They are keen to sell him this summer, with the Evening Standard reporting that a £38m price tag has been put on him.

Should Chelsea let Romelu Lukaku join AC Milan on loan?

Chelsea may find it difficult to bag almost £40m for a player who they clearly do not want.

Even so, they should not compromise too much and allow the 31-year-old to join Milan or another club on loan.

That would be his third successive one. As the club’s third-most expensive signing in history, it is now time for Chelsea to either make some real money back from Lukaku from a sale or utilise him.

Lukaku is way too valuable for Chelsea to be lending out every season. Of course, if offloading him permanently was so easy, then the club would have done it by now. But this surely has to be his last days as a “Chelsea player”.
