Report: Club CEO travelling to London and wants to sign 'exciting' player from Tottenham

It has just come to light, that a club CEO is travelling to London and wants to sign an ‘exciting’ player from Tottenham Hotspur.

Ange Postecoglou will be a busy man in the summer transfer window, as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of a return to European football.

Though, he’ll also have to contend with departures and it’s thought as many as 10 players could be leaving North London.

That said, one ‘exciting’ player could be nearing an imminent exit.

Genoa pushing to sign Djed Spence

According to Calcio Mercato, Genoa club CEO Andres Blazquez is due to meet Tottenham Hotspur representatives in London in a bid to sign Djed Spence.

The full-back spent the second half of last season on loan at the Serie A outfit following an underwhelming spell in the Championship with Leeds United.

Since joining the North Londoners in 2022 as part of a £20m deal, the 23-year-old has hardly had a look in, making just six appearances.

Now, it seems he could be departing on a permanent deal, though, it remains to be seen how much Genoa would be willing to pay for the former England under-21 international.

Player sales before end of June

A lot of clubs around the Premier League will likely be eager to sell players before the end of June – when the financial year ends.

That way, it could help to keep them in line with Financial Fair Play regulations and Spurs are no different in that.

So perhaps we’ll see a number of outgoings this month before anyone is brought in.
