'I can guarantee': £55m player is now deciding between three clubs, Chelsea are one of them - Fabrizio Romano

One player is going to have a big decision to make this summer amid interest from Chelsea and a couple of other Premier League clubs.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea look keen to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window.

They failed to reach their objective this season after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

The Blues have missed out on Champions League qualification again so reinforcements could now be coming.

That is likely to include the arrival of a new striker, with the likes of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz currently being linked to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea one option for centre-forward

Despite Chelsea’s failure to qualify for either the Champions League or Europa League, they still look to be a possible destination for one in-demand forward this summer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Sesko is currently considering the Blues.

However, Romano says two other clubs from England are also in the equation.

Discussing Sesko’s future on Substack, the Italian journalist said: “I can guarantee that Sesko is still taking his time to decide between three clubs — Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.”

Who will Benjamin Sesko join this summer, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United?

It is easy to see why Chelsea want Sesko. They are a bit light up front, while Sesko has proven this season that he can score in a top European league.

He finished the 2023/24 campaign in ridiculous form, netting seven times in Leipzig’s final seven Bundesliga games.

With a £55m release clause in his contract as well, the 21-year-old is affordable.

However, if Sesko does decide to leave Leipzig this summer, then you would have to make Arsenal the favourites for his signature.

They are the ones in the Champions League and have challenged for the title in the last two seasons. Chelsea can offer the Slovenia international a “project”, but it is still a bit tricky to imagine him picking that over Arsenal.

It is not impossible that Chelsea win this transfer battle, while the name Manchester United will always appeal to players. But the Emirates may very well end up being Sesko’s destination this summer.
